The Driver.
Results first. Obstacles are information.
Decides fast and drives to the result; treats obstacles as information about the next move, not walls.
- Decisive
- direct
- blunt
At its best
Cuts through a stall and gets a decision made while everyone else is still circling it.
- Decides fast when others stall
- Comfortable with pressure and confrontation
- Turns ambition into concrete action
What it gives a room
Ends the circling. Where this seat sits, a meeting reaches a decision instead of a summary, and the decision is usually the one nobody wanted to say out loud.
What to hand it
The decision everyone has been deferring, with a deadline attached and permission to make it unpopular.

- High-pressure operating roles
Leading
You set the pace by example. That suits people who run on stretch and can leave people who run on stability working at a tempo they would not have chosen. Both kinds of people are usually in the room. Challenge is your default motivator, so you tend to offer it to everyone, including the people who finish what you start. Name the standard, then let them meet it their own way: the pace you set is also the pace you are teaching.
Relating
You tend to show care by doing: fixing the thing, paying for it, standing between the people you love and whatever is coming. It is real care, and it can be hard to see from the outside. Worth asking the people closest to you directly: would they trade some of the fixing for an evening where nothing is being solved? Many people with this pattern find the answer is not the one they expected. Saying it is also doing something.
